Polytronics Technology Corporation and Tyco Electronics Corporation announce that they have reached an arrangement in connection with a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Tyco Electronics against SIIG, Inc., a California based manufacturer and distributor of computer add-on products such as USB devices, IEEE 1394 adapters, controller boards (SCSI and EIDE) and other communication devices.

Polytronics supplied SIIG with some of the Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) devices accused of infringement as alleged by Tyco Electronics in the lawsuit.  Both Polytronics and SIIG denied the allegations of infringement through actions taken in response to Tyco Electronics’ lawsuit.

Although the terms of the agreement are confidential, the agreement provides for an exchange of certain intellectual property between Tyco Electronics and Polytronics.  Persuant to the agreement, Polytronics will be free to manufacture and sell certain low-voltage products which are the subject of the lawsuit.  As a result, Tyco Electronics has dropped its lawsuit.
