From the first SMD1812 device launched in 1998, SMD1210, SMD1206, SMD2920, SMD2016, SMD0805 and SMD0603 were quickly followed into the market. The industry's smallest 0402 PPTC was launched in 2011.

Currently all the SMD series meet the RoHS requirement, and products have also shift to halogen-free material and process from Q4, 2008 to meet European Union standard.
